The Faultliners, Rainy Eyes
Get ready for some foot-stomping fun with bluegrass masters The Faultliners, as the Napa Valley Opera House kicks off its “Grand Ole Napa Valley Opry House” series on Saturday April 15 in the upstairs ballroom. The evening features a lively mix of pickin’, strummin’ and singin’ in the folk, bluegrass and Americana styles. Bluegrass duo Rainy Eyes will open the evening with their blend of folk, rock, and Americana, followed by popular performers The Faultliners, playing traditional bluegrass on fiddle, bass, guitar, banjo, and mandolin. Doors open at 6:30 PM, show starts at 7:30. Part of the Napa Valley Opera House Community Programming, sponsored in part by Lagniappe Peak Vineyards and the City of Napa, with the support of Blue Note Napa.
Seating is first come, first seated. General Admission. Space to dance a little in the back too!
The Faultliners perform Traditional Bluegrass Music played in an original style by some of the most respected "side persons" in the business. The band formed at a session in Point Reyes Station, California where the San Andreas Fault meets the sea. Its members are Avram Siegel (banjo/vocals), Sharon Gilchrist (mandolin/vocals), Paul Knight (bass/vocals), Keith Little (guitar/vocals) and Blaine Sprouse (fiddle/vocals).
Rainy Eyes is a duo with Irena Eide on vocals and guitar, and Amy Scher providing fiddle and harmonies. Eide is a singer/songwriter born and raised in Bergen, Norway, whose songs carry elements of folk, bluegrass, Americana, rock, country and soul. Paired with Bay Area bluegrass fiddler/singer Amy Scher, their voices blend beautifully and create a soulful, heartfelt and timeless sound with tight knit harmonies and thoughtful songwriting.
